Standardized Work Form 3
The Standardized Work Chart is one of the three core documents of Standardized Work. It's a bird's-eye view of the work area showing the physical layout, the operator's walking path in sequence, and key metrics like takt time and cycle time. Also called "Form 3" — the other two are the Process Capacity Table (Form 1) and the Standardized Work Combination Table (Form 2 / SWCT).

The Standardized Work Chart (SWC) — Form 3 of the three core standardized work documents — is a bird's-eye view of the work area. It shows the physical layout of machines and workstations, the operator's walking path in sequence, and key metrics such as takt time and cycle time. Quality check points and safety hazards are marked directly on the layout so anyone can audit the standard at a glance.
While the Standardized Work Combination Table shows the timing of each element, the SWC shows the physical movement. Together they define the complete standard for how one operator performs one cycle of work.
Post the SWC at the workstation as the visual standard. Update it any time the process layout changes, new equipment is added, or work elements are rebalanced. It is especially useful during new employee training — the chart shows exactly where to walk, what to check, and in what order.
